Skywatchers hoping to catch the cosmic light show known as the Lyrid meteor shower had their best chance as the annual event peaked the night of April 21, but don't give up if you just missed it, astronomers say.
Despite passing its peak, the shower will still provide a chance for viewing opportunities as it tapers off for the rest of the week, they say.

Lyrids 
【名】《天文》琴座流星群

竪琴（ハープ） とは、
西洋音楽で用いられる弦鳴楽器。ハープの起源は狩人の弓ではないかと考えられており、最も古いハープの記録は紀元前4000年のエジプトと紀元前3000年のメソポタミアのものではないかと言われている。

シュメール王朝時代の遺跡からは、ほぼハープの原型と思われる楽器が発見されており、壁画の記録からも、奏法もハープと同じものと見られる。古代の叙事詩やエジプトの壁画に現れ、世界中の多くの音楽文化で発展し独自の展開を遂げた。ギリシア神話の「竪琴の名手オルペウス」による「冥府くだり」などが有名である。

オルペウス とは、
ギリシア神話に登場する吟遊詩人。

オルペウス の 冥府くだり
オルペウスの妻エウリュディケーが毒蛇にかまれて死んだ時、オルペウスは妻を取り戻す為に冥府に入った。彼の弾く竪琴の哀切な音色の前に、ステュクスの渡し守カローンも、冥界の番犬ケルベロスもおとなしくなり、冥界の人々は魅了され、みな涙を流して聴き入った。

ついにオルペウスは冥界の王ハーデスとその妃ペルセポネーの王座の前に立ち、竪琴を奏でてエウリュディケーの返還を求めた。オルペウスの悲しい琴の音に涙を流すペルセポネに説得され、ハーデスは、「冥界から抜け出すまでの間、決して後ろを振り返ってはならない」という条件を付け、エウリュディケーをオルペウスの後ろに従わせて送った。

目の前に光が見え、冥界からあと少しで抜け出すというところで、不安に駆られたオルペウスは後ろを振り向き、妻の姿を見たが、それが最後の別れとなってしまった。

自分にとって本当に大切なのは、振り向いてくれない理想の人じゃなく、

いつも側にいて、自分を大切に想ってくれる子なんだ。
