This year it is easy to find Sirius since it is going to be one of the brightest stars seen from the Earth, according to a news release. The name Sirius means sparkling or scorching. If you are not sure where to look as the New Year approaches, look out for the prominent Belt stars of the constellation Orion, since Orion's Belt always directs to Sirius.
